For those of us who despair of ever being the next Martha Stewart the idea of creating our own wedding centerpieces can feel as stressful as taking the SATs. As a decidedly non-crafty person I was happy to turn my wedding décor over to a wonderfully crafty friend. Thanks to her I have learned that even my limited skills can be useful and that simple down to earth DIY wedding centerpieces can be beautiful.
All you need to make photo cubes are old CD cases. Hot glue them together and place photos of the bride and groom inside the cases. These make great centerpieces and if you want to really make them outstanding you can place flowers in the middle of the cases.
Lighted Flower Bowls
Whether you have a budget that allows you to purchase a set of matching clear bowls or have to gather from friends and family all sizes and shapes of bowl you can create gorgeous centerpieces with nothing more than floating tea lights, a few flowers and water. These lighted flower bowls will look great and the more eclectic your bowl collection the more likely that the centerpieces will become conversation starters!
The K.I.S.S. Centerpiece
This one I like to call the keep-it-simple-stupid centerpiece. Choose a few flowers and ribbons in your wedding colors and arrange small centerpieces in basic water glasses.
When the time comes for your wedding décor decisions, there’s no need to stress or to spend hours upon hours fighting with hot glue and a variety of materials to create centerpieces. Keep in mind that the centerpieces will make tables look pretty but the real attraction is your smiling faces and the friends and family that attend your wedding. Don’t get bogged down in details or you will simply create more stress for yourself.
