If your kids are like mine, they love emojis. So when we started to make garden decorations, they wanted to make little smiley faces peeking out of the plants. I thought the idea was pretty clever so we went with it. These easy to make decorations take longer to dry than it does to create. Perfect for kids with short attention spans. They get to paint for a few minutes, run off and play and come back in a little while.
What you need:
- Golf Balls
- Yellow, black, and white paint
- Paint brushes or foam brushes
First make sure the golf balls are clean. I recommend using used golf balls because the surface has already been roughed up. If using new golf balls, be sure to rough it up first or the paint has trouble sticking.
Paint the golf ball yellow. While that is drying, have the kids think of what emoji they want to make.
It might take several coats of paint because the colors on the ball tend to show through.
Once it is dry, paint the face. Remember to let the paint dry before each step of the face.
Then have the kids place the golf balls in different potted plants or in the garden.
Kids can make these as decorations for their rooms as well.
